Last Saturday, 6.8'05 HGPS had class bbq!
Not really class but more like clique.
Suppose meet Tirta, HuiQuan, Jacky, Josephine and ZhengWei at Hougang Interchange at 12.30.
In end only ZhengWei, Tirta and me there.
By time board bus, was around 1.30 and Josephine not with us but got BuanHeng.
We went to E-Hub buy the food, grill, utensils etc at the fairprice there then Josephine came.
Carried the things to Pasir Ris Park.

Reached pit 27 around 4pm.
Things there was a bit wet due to rain.
Sit there chit-chat for awhile while eating potato chips.

Buan Heng went settle the pit.
Then tried to start the bbq.

So windy until the flame keep extinguish.
Used all the firestarter we bought but still no fire.
Called Keven to buy more.
Got everything and someone to teach us at around 7.
HuiQuan cooked like all the food, BuanHeng and me prepared the sotong rings and fish.
Got people like Amanda,Keven, Zixiang, Eleanor, Kenny, Eunice and Carmen came.

Blogging this in a rush.
Trying to settle my testimony.

Thursday 17 December 2009

Yo, I'm back from my mission trip to Pathein, Myanmar.
It sure is a nice experience for me.
Just want to thank God for being the provider, protector of this trip.
This is what I think all of us felt.
Note: All timings are Pathein, Myanmar.

Day 1, 10 December 2009 Thursday

6:00 (SG Time)
Dropped off at Changi Airport Terminal 2.
Met with Marcus, Samuel, Bio, Tina, Gerald and their parents.
We helped Aunty Pauline and Uncle Choon Leng with the tapping of the "Aunty Bags" to make it easier for us to recognize them.
Soon Jolene, Carmen, Joan and Edmund came.
Jolene, Carmen, Bio and me check-in as one group while the rest in another.
Check-in was long as the person service us was like so inefficient.
Heard Cherlene was not coming due to her fever.
The 12 man mission trip group and the members' parents all went Mac to eat breakfast.

7:25 (SG Time)
Bio' father prayed for the group and it was time for us to enter.
I found the new automatic system to enter very easy to use. Haha.
We rushed to board the plane.
Was like so boring, practically reading book and newspapers for the whole flight.
Reason for that was I was sitting alone. LOL.

9:20
Finally reached Yangon, Myanmar.
Took a coach to Tamanda Hotel.
One thing for sure, it was better than I expected it to be.
304 - Carmen and Jolene
305 - Samuel, Bio and me
306 - Edmund, Marcus and Gerald
311 - Aunty Pauline and Uncle Choon Ling
312 - Tina and Joan
After bringing in luggage into our rooms.
Went to a nearby market to exchange money and went to eat "Shang" Noodles.
For me, I ordered some type of dry noodles.
It had pork ribs in it.
Ok la.
Most people had order like beef basket noodles.
Inside got this caterpillar like ingredient.
I tried it, turns out to be quite nice.
Probably I was too hungry.
Bought materials that some of us left at our homes in Singapore.
Also bought food, mainly snacks for our next day 5hr bus ride to Pathein.
Back to hotel for a while then meet at lobby again.

17:20
Uncle Choon Leng brought us to Silk Air to check on Tina and Gerald's tickets.
This was like the second miracle that happen through the preparation of trip to beginning of trip.
Tina actually got her ticket on the same flight as rest of us.
However, Gerald did not get his ticket.
Left Silk Air, walked around China Town.
Walked for 3hrs I think.
Keep seeing the same things.
Bought non roasted cashew nuts.
Samuel bought tangerines.
By then around 8:30 liao.
All of us too tired to go else where.
So ate at the hotel restaurant.
Had some type of Japanese food.
First night devotion led by Samuel.
Found out need prepare word for it.
After devotion had debrief and plans on the next day things.
Went sleep at 00:20

Day 2, 11 December 2009 Friday

5:00
You maybe wondering why I woke up so early.
Reason for that is I set my phone alarm at 06:30 but as there is a 1hr 30mins differences, I woke up early.
So blur until went bath and just to come out that it was not time yet.
Read my book until 06:00 to morning call the girls.

7:00
Went down with Bio and Samuel for breakfast.
Didnt even notice that it was a two-sided menu, so all 3 of us ordered the American Breakfast.
Not that nice, like the usual.

8:00
Had morning devotion led by Tina until 8:30
Went back rooms to back and off for bus ride to Pathein.

9:30
Bus left Tamanda Hotel.
I fell asleep for 30mins.
Ride was boring.
5hours ride, how can be not boring.
Was trying to sleep through whole journey.
Ride was super bumpy.
At 12:00, only reach half way point.
Freshen up while driver went eat.
12:30, continued to the journey there.
Ate some chips I bought then Uncle Choon Leng taught us how do the teddy bear balloon.
Fairly easy.
That time in Singapore, I tried, shouldnt have give up.

14:30
Reached Pathein, dropped off the "Aunty Bags" of clothes at the orphanage.
Met the director of the orphanage.
Took the coach to the hotel where we were going to stay for several days.
201 - Aunty Pauline and Uncle Choon Leng
202 - Tina and Joan
203 - Jolene and Carmen
205 - Samuel, Bio and me
206 - Edmund, Gerald and Marcus
Walked to the chinese restaurant which Uncle Choon Leng said was nice.
Reached there at 15:00.
Order a dishes and rice with soup.
Lunch came like at 15:45
Finished eating at 16:30.
Went back hotel, get things for balloon sculpturing.
Reach there, had a big welcome.
It felt weird.
Compare to Redhill Outreach, this is nothing like it.
Singapore kids where got do such things.

All singing so loudly.

Did balloon sculpturing for like from 18:30 - 22:30
At first was to show them how do the dog but the children just keep taking balloons giving us do.
In end the table had many "orphan" balloons.
Gave them away then photo-taking.

Balloon Dogs

So many balloons.

In the meantime, the rest of us continued to make the other types like flower, teddy bear etc.
Gerald and Edmund demonstrated the flower, Uncle Choon Leng, Carmen and me demo the teddy bear.
Soon, the children kept asking us to make either teddy bear or flower.
Was like in a rush making.
After the balloon sculpturing session, went eat dinner.
Dinner was like at a pub with this extremely talkative waiter.
Talked to me about a beautiful beach at Pathein.
I got to say that his English is fantastic.
He asked a question, "why are you spying at me?" when it was suppose to be " why are you smiling at me?"
Super joker.
Devotion was led by Edmund.
Devotion under the stars, sounds nice to do.
Really under the stars.
It was like you would want to sing the song Indescribable as worship.
Showering was like you dont even want to get under the water.
Too COLD.
Everyone was like shouting as it was cold.
If I was not wrong, that day , Joan said got a big lizard drop on her pillow.

Day 3, 12 December 2009 Saturday

4:45
This time is not set my phone time wrongly but due to being extremely blur when I got woke up by Samuel.
Had to wake at 6 but never mind since I wake up, wont sleep.
6:00 as usual, morning call.

7:00
Met downstairs, went to a nearby place for breakfast.
By time breakfast and went back was like 9:00
Tour the place where they stay.

Front view

Balloons made by us, hanged by them like christmas decorations

Pig just outside.
Went to orphanage to start the Art and Craft Session.
They were to do puppets.

First started with drawing out and colouring their drawn-out hand.

Raymond with his decorated puppet.

Super Bio helping out.

Samuel, Joan and Tina with the children.

Come on people! Show me your puppets!

After that session, some came up and asked us to sign.
It was like treated like some big-shot VIP.
Everyone was like smiling away.
Lunch at same place as the lunch at previous day.
I only remember that day we had a "steam chicken with medicine drug soup" which was herbal chicken.

14:15
Reach back at the orphanage to do the telematch.

First game was to hold a ping pong ball using the leg and hop through a course.

COME ON! CHEER LOUDER!

Second game was using paper plates and got like 7-8 people to cross the "river"
Third game was like need hold people hand and go through the balloon hop.
Next game was bowling, super messy.
Last game was the Scissors, paper, stone.
My group was Paul, helping was our team leader Tina, Bio and Joan.
Ended at 16:15
Then teach the older children to do the fish tank.
Took like 1hr 15mins.

Went dinner at same old place.
While waiting for dinner, learn how play bridge.
At night was double devotion since morning missed.
It was led by Joan and Marcus.
Edmund that day was like super tired.
After bathing etc, all of us except Aunty Pauline and Uncle Chong Leng went to 207.
Watched Chelsea vs Everton while rest played monopoly card game.
Monopoly card game taught by Carmen and Jolene.
Football was a draw, then went sleep.

Day 4, 13 December 2009 Sunday

6:00
Usual morning call, didnt have breakfast, went straight there.
Started at 7:15
Had the children do the Photo frame for close to 2hours.

Materials for photo frame. (Feathers, Macaroni, Leftover eyes and noses from puppets, stickers, some shiny things)

Time to start decorating!

Show me your frames.

Children again, asked us to sign.
Can really feel touched.
Redhill Outreach the kids will never do this.

Sang blessing song to them and they sang a song for us.

Gift for the director presented by Uncle Choon Leng.

Morning devotion was done there while children went to their service.
It was done by Carmen.
Shared something that felt like the guilt of not going for the previous mission trip.

Girls

Guys

(Edmund's Camera has it)
Took group photos at hotel.

Went buy supplies for goodies bags and had lunch.
While waiting for the rest to buy the snacks for the children, Gerald,Carmen, Jolene, Joan, Tina and me played some games.

First Game of Mochichi

Second Game of Mochichi

Bio's Explanation of Mochichi

Bio's Impression of FootBall

Bio's Impression of FootBall Part II: Liverpool Vs Arsenal

(Note: One video is only to be shown to cell members, it would not be shown here)
The video is super funny.

Packed the goodies bags and went to orphanage.
Had to sit that trishaw, the ride felt like the journey from Yangon to Pathein except it was closer.
Aunty Pauline and Uncle Choon Leng went buy eggs and rice while the rest of us did a card for them.

Behind the scenes.
Gave the goodies bags to the children.
Took pictures and left.

Walked by the harbor but as it was dark, cant see anything.
Played bridge, taught by Joan.
Dinner at same place.
Devotion at night led by me.
Watched Liverpool vs Arsenal for a while and unexpectedly fell asleep.
At least Arsenal won.

Day 5, 14 December 2009 Monday

Had morning devotion led by Jolene.
Followed by breakfast and packing of luggage.
Director of orphanage send us off.
This time, I really enjoy the bus ride back for some unknown reason.
Reached Yangon at 3: 20
Had lunch there at hotel, most of us talking about the 10years of being under Aunty Pauline.
All those flashbacks of those times.
Went to Silk Air and found out Gerald ticket has been confirmed.
Just so amazing.
Went to lan shop to email parents.
Had to meet at 20:00 for dinner but the usual 10 of us in room playing bridge so late.
Dinner was like everyone cant eat.
Shared pizza with Bio, Carmen and Jolene.
Then played bridge.
Devotion led by Bio.
This devotion was filled with tears.
Even just recalling about this, what Aunty Pauline and Marcus said, can really make me depress.

Day 6, 15 December 2009 Tuesday

1:30
Started to play bridge for 30mins and took photos.

Normal

Flying?

Super Bio

PokkaFace
I'm sure everyone felt closer through this trip.

Went sleep then meet the 10 of us for breakfast.
Had morning devotion led by Gerald.
After it, took some photos then off to Bogyoke Aung San Market.
Went buy things at Bogyoke Aung San Market, all 10 of us same design for shirt.
Will be damn cool when all of us wearing.

Took plane at 4:30.
Sat alone again.
Anyway was tired, so maybe the peace was good.
Reached SG at 9:15 (SG Time)
Upload photos etc.
This mission trip really taught me a lot.
Just like what Edmund shared about what we learn about the true meaning of blessed to be a blessing.
The way God multiplied the glue until it was even enough for the fish tank making.
The way God did the tickets for Bio, Tina and Gerald.
Maybe to those non-christians, it would seem to be a coincidence.
Thank God for this wonderful, amazing mission trip.
Just want to thank Aunty Pauline for the years of taking care of us through cell, watching over us and believing in us, the passion she shared with us on going for missions and many other things that is too much to mention.
Also for Uncle Chong Leng for being so encouraging and patient with all of us.
I want to go for another mission and this mission should have been longer.

12hours to write all of this.
13hours to completely edit everything. (Incomplete)
14hours, now I remember why I hate blogger video. Testing something.(Done)

God Bless,
Benedict

Lord, I give you my life
A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be your hands and feet
